The CST/berger LD500 is a magnetic laser receiver, designed to attach to the stick or boom of earthmoving equipment such as excavators, backhoe, trenchers and dozers.

It is used to manually check levels and digging heights/depths without having to get out of the cab of the machine.
The LD500 will detect/pick up the rotating beam of a laser level, which is mounted on a tripod away from the machine.
The bright LED lights, which can be seen from inside the cab, offer indicate above, level and below grade.
The LD500 is also supplied with a rod-eye bracket which connects to a staff or grade rod allowing for general purpose leveling. (Note: To achieve the high leveling accuracy required for construction and building profiles, floors and foundations, it is recommended to use the handheld receiver supplied with the rotating laser as it will provide more accurate results).

The LD500 features rubber moulding on the front of the unit to help protect the receiver from damage.
