| Radiodetection RD7100 Advanced Cable Locator |
|
The new RD7100 from Radiodetection is an advanced precision cable locator.
Featuring an updated large high contrast display, it is an industry specific locator range, built on 40 years of pionering excellence in locating services and utilities.
The 7100 range consists of 4 different models, each unit with industry specific frequencies, either active or passive, optimized for the challenges of locating a particular utility.
New to the RD7100 series are the Integrated GPS and automatic usage-logging features (n/a on SL model).
GPS equipped RD7100 locators automatically capture key locate parameters every second, providing a comprehensive picture of individual locates and allowing you to assess usage patterns over periods of a year or more.
This allow users to review locate history to ensure compliance with best practice.
RD7100 Technology
StrikeAlert®
This feature, standard on all RD7100 models, is a warning system to the user alerting them of "shallow" buried utilties.
It's main purpose is to assist the operator in reducing the number of shallow cable strikes.
Compass Orientation
The compass features allows the operator to quickly and easily follow the target line by visually indicating the
relative orientation of the target cable and the locator. By indicating the alignment of the
target cable with the locator, Compass helps to improve accuracy when measuring depth.
Dynamic Overload Protection
This
extends the RD7100's locate capability into areas where other products fail by automatically filtering out large and unwanted signals - aiding accurate location of the target pipe or cable even in electrically noisy conditions, for example near High
Voltage overhead cables.
Peak+™ Mode
Combine the accuracy of Peak locating with the rapid ground coverage of Guidance arrows in the new Peak+â„¢ mode. A single key press lets you check for distortion by comparing Null with Peak.
TruDepth™
TruDepth ensures depth readings are only given when RD7100 is correctly oriented ensuring you can be confident in the result.
Power Filters™
Power Filters uses the harmonic properties of mains networks to establish if a strong power signal comes from one source of multiple cables.

Radiodetection RD7100 Model Range
|
RD7100SL
The RD7100SL model is specifically designed for the Construction Industry.
Accurate and simple to use, the RD7100SL comes with four
active and two passive frequencies that cover the majority of site
locating tasks.
The 4 active frequencies are 8kHz, 33kHz, 65kHz and 83kHz.
The 2 passive frequencies are Power and Radio.
A rugged, IP65 rated casing along with a high
contrast screen make it suitable for use in all weather conditions.
An optional TX controller can be used with the RD7100SL.
The TX controller is used to "induce" or apply a distinctive signal into either the metallic materials or utility services, enabling the user to easily identify the location of the underground cable.
|
RD7100DL
The RD7100PL model is specifically designed for the Water/Plumbing Industry.
Compared with the basic SL model above, the popular DL model features
four sonde frequencies.
This enables the RD7100DL to be used in conjuction with a CCTV pipe camera or FlexRod to trace deep pipes made from a variety of materials including: plastic, cast iron, clay, concrete and brick.
The 5 active frequencies are 512Hz, 640Hz, 8kHz, 33kHz and 65kHz.
The 4 sonde frequencies;
512Hz, 640Hz, 8kHz and 33kHz.
The 2 passive frequencies are Power and Radio.
Additionally, it can be used to locate Cathodic Protection System (CPS) signals applied to some pipelines.
As is the case with the SL model above, an optional TX controller can be used with the RD7100DL to correctly locate metallic materials or utility services underground.
|
RD7100PL
The RD7100PL model is specifically designed for the Power/Electrical Industry.
Designed for use in infrastructures where signals from high voltage equipment and cables can be confusing or overwhelming. Dynamic Overload Protection reduces the effect of interference, while Power Filters can be used to establish if a large power signal comes from one source or from the presence of multiple cables.
The 3 active frequencies are 8kHz, 33kHz and 65kHz.
The 1 sonde frequency is 33kHz.
The 2 passive frequencies are Power and Radio.
Additionally, the RD7100PL can perform fault finding using the 8kHz Fault Find mode with a Radiodetection A-Frame.
As is the case with the SL & DL models above, an optional TX controller is recommended for use with the RD7100PL to correctly locate utility services underground.
|
RD7100TL
The RD7100TL model is specifically designed for the Telecommunications Industry.
The RD7100TL features higher frequencies to locate high impedance cables amongst large bundled pairs and sonde frequencies for duct and conduit tracing. Higher frequencies can also be used to trace sheathed domestic cables without grounding connections.
The 7 active frequencies are 512Hz, 640Hz, 8kHz, 33kHz, 65kHz, 131kHz and 200kHz.
The 3 sonde frequencies;
512Hz, 640Hz and 33kHz.
The 1 passive frequency is Power.
Additionally, the RD7100TL can perform fault finding using the 8kHz Fault Find mode with a Radiodetection A-Frame.
As is the case with the other 7100 models above, an optional TX controller is recommended for use with the RD7100TL to correctly locate utility services underground.
