Pulsar Model 14 Class 2 Meter

CODE: SOUND PULSAR MODEL 14

The Model 14 is a professional Class 2 Sound Level Meter from Pulsar Instruments plc.

This type of meter is used for attaining a general sound level (decibels) in your location.

Class 2 (or Type 2) is a common type of sound level meter that conforms to the requirements and accuracy of the international IEC 61672-1 standard for SPL (sound pressure level) meters.

Calibrated by Pulsar and tested prior to sale, the Model 14 meets the demands of the trade user and is ideal for users wanting to measure sound levels in a commercial, industrial or residential location, in a factory, school, public facility or on a construction site.

The Model 14 has an easy to read LCD display, which shows the sound level (SPL) in decibels (dBA).
The operator can select either the standard A-frequency-weighting or the alternative C-frequency-weighting.
The maximum hold function allows the unit to freeze the display showing the highest level measured. This feature is very useful for determining the approximate maximum level of sound output from the source.

For certain applications, such as fire alarm testing, the Model 14 is best used in the 'Slow' rather than 'Fast' weighting mode.

If you require compliant sound level values to meet NZ/AUS standards such as Leq, L10 or L90, please click here to view the Integrated and Data Logging Sound Level Meters.

The Model 14 is issued with a test operation certificate from Pulsar in England.

The Pulsar Model 14 sound level meter with a current calibration certificate is available for HIRE.

Trotec SL300 Class 2 Meter

CODE: SOUND TROTEC SL300

The SL300 is a Class 2 Sound Level Meter.
Class 2 is a common type of sound level meter that conforms to the requirements of the international IEC 61672-1 standard for SPL (sound pressure level) meters.

Compared with the basic BS06 below, the SL300 is more accurate and is better for determining general environmental and background noise volumes. (e.g. measuring noise on the boundary of a property)

To attain better SPL readings (when compared with the BS06), it features 4 selectable measurement ranges. These ranges narrow the overall 30-130dB automatic broadband mode to smaller ranges i.e. 30 - 80dBA.

The SL300 has the added functionality of a very simple data recording function. Up to 50 measured values can be recorded into the memory of the SL300, with time and date. These values can be recalled/viewed at a later time by the operator.
NOTE: This is not a downloadable data recording sound level meter or programmable one.
For these types of meters, please click here to view the Data Logging Sound Level Meters.

dB(A) and dB(C) frequencies can be measured with maximum, minimum and hold measuring modes. The response time can be also alternated between fast (125ms) and slow (1s) sampling rates.
The common use of the dB(A) weighted frequency and slow update rate generally provides the best results for general use.

If you require compliant sound level values to meet NZ/AUS standards such as Leq, L10 or L90, please click here to view the Integrated and Data Logging Sound Level Meters.

Tripod mountable.
